Watch making at its finest for over 140 years.

In 1868, Boston watchmaker Florentine Ariosto Jones founded the International Watch Co. in Schaffhausen. He combined progressive American production methods with the skilled craftsmanship for which Swiss watchmakers were renowned.

As a premium brand in the international luxury watch segment, IWC has fully committed itself to the manufacture of top-quality products in the mechanical fine watchmaking sector. IWC timepieces stand apart because of their exclusive status, their simple, clear-cut design and sophisticated technical features that few other watchmakers worldwide can equal. IWC today masters the art of Haute Horlogerie in every form and at every level of difficulty. Complications such as the minute repeater, power reserve display and perpetual calendar are as much a part of the company's repertoire as the tourbillon and mechanical depth gauge. With experience of in-house development and production amassed over more than 140 years, IWC's watchmakers produce perfectly crafted, timeless watches of uniquely high quality.

IWC's watch families can attest to the innovation and expertise of the engineers in Schaffhausen: ranging from robust watches for everyday use to professional sports watches, right down to the complexities of Haute Horlogerie. There are six families at IWC: Pilot, Portuguese, Aquatimer, Da Vinci, Ingenieur and Portofino.
